In cases of bruxism and night clinching habit, the teeth structure reduces in vertical height, resulting in to reduction of vertical dimension of the face, in cases of surgical removal of last molars, during healing period tremendous pressure exerts, resulting cracks and # of crowns of posterior teeth further resulting into clinching and reduction in vertical dimension. Muscles performing jaw actions are stretched and stressed, some times resulting in to neuro-muscular disease like muscular twitch, requires correction of vertical dimension by restoring true height of jaw relations.
